East Timor Exclusive Economic Zone (200M)

This dataset delineates the East Timor Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), representing the maritime area where East Timor exercises sovereign rights under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS). The EEZ extends up to 200 nautical miles from the territorial sea baseline, encompassing waters beyond and adjacent to the territorial sea. Within this zone, East Timor has sovereign rights for the purpose of exploring, exploiting, conserving, and managing natural resources, both living and non-living, of the seabed, subsoil, and superjacent waters, as well as jurisdiction over the establishment of artificial islands, marine scientific research, and the protection and preservation of the marine environment.
